This Privacy Policy explains what information Soup Reviews collects, how we use it, and your choices. By using the app, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account info: your email address and the username you choose.
- Content you create: reviews, photos, ratings, comments, reactions, and lists you add in the app.
- Location (optional): if you grant permission, we use your location to show soup spots near you and to pin reviews on the community map. We store only a generalized area, never your precise address, and we never share exact coordinates.
- Device token (optional): if you enable notifications, we store a push token so we can send them.
How we use your information
- To operate core features — posting and displaying reviews, friends, the feed, and discovery.
- To show nearby soup restaurants when you enable location.
- To send notifications you have opted into.
- To keep the community safe (moderation and responding to reports).
How your information is shared
Your username, reviews, photos, and ratings are visible to other users of the app — that's the point of a review community. Your email address is not shown to other users. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
We use Supabase as our backend service provider to store data and Google Places to find nearby restaurants. These providers process data only to deliver the app's functionality.
Data retention & deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen, or by emailing us. Deleting your account removes your account and associated reviews within 30 days.
Children
Soup Reviews is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
